Dr. Ashlyn Rockwell PT, DPT
ADCRG | Director | Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Ashlyn Rockwell, PT, DPT, ADCRG (pictured right) began her Irish dance journey as a student with the McGonagle School of Irish Dance, where she trained for 12 years and competed at the New England Oireachtas and North American National Championships.
While attending college, Ashlyn began teaching as an assistant instructor, discovering a passion for helping young dancers grow both in and out of the classroom. After retiring from competition, she became a full-time teacher in 2013, earned her TCRG in 2017, and her ADCRG in 2024.
For the past 15 years, Ashlyn taught, owned, and directed the McGonagle School of Irish Dance, helping the school grow while guiding dancers from their very first class to Regional, North American, and World Championship competitions. During her leadership, McGonagle became known for its strong sense of community, high standards of teaching, and success at every level of competition.
In 2026, Ashlyn opened Fíor Academy of Irish Dance, a CLRG-registered school that continues the same commitment to quality instruction, hard work, and a supportive, family-centered environment. While Fíor Academy is a new name, it is built on years of experience, trusted leadership, and a proven history of developing confident, successful dancers.
Outside of the dance studio, Ashlyn is also a Doctor of Physical Therapy and owner of Define Physical Therapy & Dry Needling, LLC. Her background in physical therapy allows her to bring a unique understanding of movement, strength, and injury prevention to every class she teaches.
At Fíor Academy, our teaching philosophy centers on the holistic development of the dancer. We believe in nurturing elite athletic performance while honoring the rich heritage of Irish dance. Our faculty is dedicated to creating an environment of trust, discipline, and artistic passion for every student.
